Financial help for study abroad
In past years Box Hill Institute has covered the cost of airfares for students participating in short exchange programs. Students were then responsible for all other associated costs. Other students applied for a monetary scholarship to assist with their semester program costs. Check with the Study Abroad Office to see what is currently available to help you realise your study abroad dream.
The actual cost of a short exchange will depend on the type of accommodation, meals, entertainment activities, souvenirs and passport selected. Estimates are available at the Study Abroad Office or you may like to discuss your personal situation with the International Exchange Coordinator:

The amount available for scholarships varies each year depending on the funding available. Scholarship amounts are confirmed close to the application/recruitment dates set for students. There may also be places available for self funded students to participate in the program at their own expense.
In our experience, employers, local businesses and RTOs (Registered Training Organisations) are often interested in supporting students to participate in exchanges, either through approving annual leave or making a financial contribution to assist with student expenses. It is worth spending some time writing letters to seek sponsorship, and having conversations with everyone about your intention to go on an exchange.
