John Rosenberg has been a Chairman, Non Executive Director, Board Committee Member, Managing Director and Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Dean, and has almost 20 years board level experience across the Tertiary Education (University, TAFE and private higher education) sectors. He has extensive commercial and corporate governance experience at 5 Australian universities coupled with extensive international experience in Asia, the Middle East, the USA and Europe, as well as a strong technology and engineering background.

At board level John has founded two IT start-ups and has been a Director of a range of companies (commercial and NfP) in Australia and Switzerland including: Online Hate Prevention Institute (OHPI), VERNet Pty Ltd, IELTS Australia Pty Ltd, Water Ed Australia Pty Ltd, Olympic Games Knowledge Services SA, Monash IT Pty Ltd and Distributed Systems Technology Centre (DSTC). He has held Audit & Risk Committee roles on a number of these Boards.

In an executive capacity he has undertaken a range of contract and commercial work and managed budgets in excess of $100 million. Most recently he held the position of Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President Global Relations at La Trobe University which included responsibility for the $120 million international student business. He has also held positions ranging from Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University (the largest and most diverse faculty of its type in Australia), to Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic) at Deakin University.

John now acts as an independent consultant to a range of universities and companies and enjoys his hobby of flying light aircraft.
