Upon successful completion students are awarded with a verifiable Credly Microcredential Digital Badge and accredited with the Unit of Competency TAERES501 Apply Research to Training and Assessment Practice.

This short course design incorporates the Boyer Framework of Scholarship aligned to the Australian Education Union (AEU), Multi Employment Agreement (MEA) and is supported by the Box Hill Institute Research Subcommittee.

Annemaree Gibson – Teaching and Learning Specialist & Research Integrity Advisor, Box Hill Institute (BHI)

Annemaree is a highly skilled Teaching and Learning Specialist who has facilitated teacher professional development, and researched and presented in Australia and overseas. Annemaree has completed a Master of Education specialising in Work and Learning Studies at Monash University, a Diploma of Vocational Education and Training and a Diploma of Quality Auditing. She is currently developing an Applied Research Community of Practice to support and champion VET educators new to research at BHI. Early in 2021, Annemaree was the co-recipient of the WAVE/Sue Salthouse Grant for research into gender and disability.

Course Content

How will you be assessed:

This course is designed for experienced VET practitioners who have the following:

  • hold the TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or the TAE50110 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or equivalent in Adult Education (or working towards)
  • a minimum of 2 years full time teaching experience, or minimum 4 years part time teaching experience
  • intermediate digital literacy skills - upon enrolment all students are required to complete the Digital Literacy for VET teachers microcredential short course.

All applicants are required to complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) application form detailing their proposed applied research topic and research question for approval prior to being accepted for enrolment.  Please email the Teaching and Learning Enhancement team for an EOI form at tle@boxhill.edu.au

You will need:

  • a reliable internet access
  • desktop or laptop computer or other suitable electronic device
  • computer with inbuilt or compatible headset/audio and microphone
