Got a love for adventure? This white water course covers the skills and knowledge required to instruct canoeing on grade 2 water. Grade 2 water is determined by the International River Grading System.

This course focuses on planning, instructing and evaluating an instructional canoeing session to enable participants to achieve the skills and knowledge required to participate independently, or with minimal supervision, in a canoeing activity on grade 2 water.

You will be required to show experience and log multiple trips canoeing on white water in order to validate your skills.

Canoe Guide - Flat Water course.

You will need to source and arrange your own clothing and camping gear sufficient for 4 season protection. Some essential requirements are: PFD, helmet, first aid units and first aid kit. Prepare to be out for multiple nights in a row camping.

This short course applies to those working as white water canoeing instructors who are responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating instructional sessions for groups of participants on grade 2 water.

This short course may also apply to leaders working for outdoor education or adventure providers; volunteer groups; not-for-profit organisations or government agencies.

You will gain the Canoe Guide - White Water enabling you to apply for a range of positions locally and overseas. Successful completion will support students stepping into a certificate IV or diploma in outdoor recreation.
