Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology
Are you a qualified mechanic looking to upskill your knowledge? Do you want to be able to service and repair automotive air conditioning systems?
From our automotive air conditioning course you can gain the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of tasks related to servicing and repairing air conditioning systems.
You’ll learn how to diagnose and repair cooling systems, how to inspect and service both engines and fuel systems, how to test and repair electrical circuits and how to install basic ancillary electrical systems and components.

Full time: 4 days (Monday - Thursday)
You must have:
- a Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Light Vehicle or
- Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology and
- evidence of substantial automotive industry experience
To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs the Institute and CAE will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.
A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.
Successful completion will enable you to apply for further automotive courses to further your industry skills and knowledge.
This course is government accredited and has national recognition
The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 2
After successful completion, you may wish to apply for a range of roles such as automotive air conditioning serviceperson.
Completion of 13 units, 7 core units and 6 electives.
