About the course

This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge for entry into an apprenticeship within the plumbing industry. You will be introduced to the basic skills and knowledge that underpin the CPC32413 – Certificate III in Plumbing.

You will learn 

  • the calculations to carry out your work
  • how to produce technical drawings
  • how to select and use the correct plumbing tools
  • equipment and materials
  • plumbing supplies
  • principles of sustainability in the plumbing industry
  • maintain safe working conditions
  • basic first aid

You'll also complete your white card for the construction industry.

This program runs for 14 weeks and students are required to attend 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) from 8.00am to 4.30pm.

Entry Requirements


You will need:

  • a basic level of numeracy and literacy (Year 10)
  • an understanding of conversational English

PRE-TRAINING REVIEW - to assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Box Hill Institute will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment. A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.

Pathways & Accreditation


After successful completion, you may wish to continue your studies as an apprentice completing a Certificate III in Plumbing.

This course is government accredited and has national recognition

The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 2
