Do you know what you want to do but need a little more help to get there? Have you identified an industry that you would like to learn more about or work in? This work education course will give you the skills you need to explore the job roles within your chosen industry, learn about work place safety and understand the behaviours that are required to find and keep a fantastic job!
We can help you work towards a future in the areas of:
You will learn about different jobs in your chosen Industry and identify the skills that you need for those jobs. You will also gain an understanding of your own qualities and the employment support services that can help you when you need it. You will be given opportunities for hands-on experience as part of your work placement, so that you can practice your new skills and identify areas for future learning.
Your friendly teacher will be with you every step of the way to support you with your learning and give you feedback on how you are going. Delivery and assessment will be adjusted to encourage your success.
Please note: This course will change in the near future and alterations to the structure will occur. All new students will be enrolled into the new course.

This course is run by Box Hill Institute for a variety of Disability Service Providers. If you wish to apply, your Disability Service Provider will refer you to the Box Hill Institute Course Coordinator.
PRE-TRAINING REVIEW - to assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Box Hill Institute will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment. A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.
After successfully completing the course you may wish to progress into a variety of Certificate II courses or into supported or open employment.

The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 2
This training is provided with funds made available by the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments.
Tuition and materials fees are subject to partnership Training Service Agreements with individual Disability Service Providers. Tuition fees will vary depending on which vocational skill cluster is selected. Concession rates apply. Industry-based groups are exempt from service and amenities fees.
