This is a blended delivery course which will include a combination of online, remote and face to face delivery. Blended learning can involve a range of online programs and resources including StudentWeb, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Skype, specific industry platforms, pre-recorded sessions, assigned reading, tutorials, discussion boards, and online activities. Blended learning also involves face-to-face attendance at classes or practical placements.
VETDSS courses follow the same term structure as Secondary Schools

This course can only be completed as part of your secondary school studies in Years 11 and 12. You must have approval of your school to enrol in this course.
To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Box Hill Institute will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.
A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.
After completion of this program, you may wish to complete the remaining units in the CHC30113 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care to complete your qualification or apply for entry into the CHC50113 – Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
To obtain employment opportunities as a Certificate III Level Educator you must be enrolled and working towards completion of the CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification. You must also be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Work settings may include preschools/kindergartens, long day care, out of hours school care, recreation and mobile care services.
On successful completion of this program, students will be eligible for:
Students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence will be eligible for an increment towards their ATAR (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies).

The VCAA mandates a minimum of 120 hours (60 hours per year) of structured workplace learning placement over the duration of the program.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required for workers to participate in safe work practices to ensure their own health and safety, and that of others.
The unit applies to all workers who require knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) to carry out their own work, either under direct supervision or with some individual responsibility.
