About the course

Are you looking to start or enhance your career in pharmacy support in a hospital setting? Then our hospital and health services course is for you.

If you are currently employed as a hospital pharmacy technician you can commence Certificate lll in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support as an off-campus student. During this course, you’ll develop your knowledge and skills in:

  • dispensing of prescriptions
  • managing pharmaceutical stock
  • infection control
  • anatomy and medical terminology

Entry Requirements


You must be employed as a pharmacy technician in a hospital to commence as on off-campus student.

PRE-TRAINING REVIEW

To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Box Hill Institute will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.

A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.

Successful completion enables you to apply for entry into the Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support.
