If you are currently employed as a hospital pharmacy technician you can commence Certificate lll in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support as an off campus student. If you are seeking employment as a hospital pharmacy technician providing technical support under a pharmacist’s supervision in a hospital setting you can enrol in our on-campus course. During this course, you’ll develop your knowledge and skills in:

  • dispensing of prescriptions
  • managing pharmaceutical stock
  • infection control
  • anatomy and medical terminology

PRE-TRAINING REVIEW

To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs the Institute and CAE will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.

A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.

Successful completion enables you to apply for entry into the Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support.

Recognition of Prior Learning is available.

This course is government accredited and has national recognition

The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 3

After successful completion, you may wish to apply for employment opportunities as a hospital pharmacy technician.
