In our makeup course, learn how to design and apply make-up for a range of purposes and occasions across the beauty, fashion, media and entertainment industries.

As a makeup artist, you’ll typically work as part of a team or on a freelance basis in settings such as in makeup studios, retail cosmetic counters, fashion and media sets and photography studios.

You must:

  • be at least 17 years of age, or mature age
  • have successfully completed Year 11
  • have sufficient literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course
  • possess excellent people skills

Successful completion will enable you to apply for our Diploma of Beauty Therapy course. You may be eligible for credit from your previous study.

Recognition of Prior Learning is available.

This course is government accredited and has national recognition

The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 3

After successful completion, you may wish to apply for positions in beauty salons, photography & make-up studios and retail cosmetic counters.

You must complete 15 units (including 9 core and 6 elective).
