This allied health course will give you the knowledge and skills to work as an Allied Health Assistant (AHA), providing therapeutic and program related support to clients who are under the care of an Allied Health Professional. Allied Health Professionals include Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietitians, Speech Therapists and Podiatrists.
You will learn the knowledge and skills required to complete tasks delegated to you by the Allied Health Professional including individual therapy programs, rehabilitation programs, group therapy programs and assisting clients with activities of daily living programs.
Upon successful completion of the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, you can gain employment in a number of different settings including hospital, rehabilitation, community, aged care and disability settings. You may work as an AHA in a speciality area or generally across an organisation in delivery of allied health assistance services.
To achieve this qualification, you must complete at least 120 hours of work placement.
