In this digital media technologies course, you’ll select your electives from a diverse range of units to build specialist skills in the emerging information technology field. In this course, you will learn animation, drawing, storyboarding and programming skills and knowledge.

Plus, you’ll enhance your workplace communication and business skills so you can communicate confidently with internal and external clients and with your colleagues.

  • successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent, or
  • successfully completed Year 11 and attend an interview, or
  • be a mature aged applicant or
  • be a current VCAL student (you may complete selected units in conjunction with your VCAL studies).

PRE-TRAINING REVIEW

To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs the Institute and CAE will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.

A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.

Successful completion enables you to apply for:

  • a dual Certificate IV qualification in games
  • the Certificate IV in Digital Media Technologies
  • a diploma in games or programming 
  • a degree in media arts and games development and design

Recognition of Prior Learning is available.

The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 4
