Through our Certificate IV in Education Support course you will further develop the skills and knowledge gained through the Certificate III qualification, and develop leadership skills to assist you in potentially providing guidance to other Ed Support educators in the workplace. You will be required to undertake a minimum of 100 hours of practical work placement in an education setting.

Our qualification is nationally recognised and will enusre you are National disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) ready. After successful completion, you can seek work as an education support worker that could potentially have some leadership components.

You must:

  • have completed CHC30213 – Certificate III in Education Support
  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a current Working with Children Check and a National Police Check

All applicants should attend an Information Session, and need to achieve the required scores in a supervised Core Skills Diagnostic test

On completion, students may choose a variety of different pathways – Certificate IV in Disability, Diploma of Community Services, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

This course is government accredited and has national recognition

The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 4

After successful completion, you may wish to apply for a range of employment opportunities including:

  • teacher’s aide
  • integration aide
  • education support worker
  • English as a second language support worker

Completion of 17 units including, 12 core and 5 electives. The following units will be credit transferred from the pre-requisite course – CHC30213: Certificate III Education Support – 

  • CHCEDS001 – Comply with legisaltive, policy and industrial requirements in the education environment
  • CHCECE006 – Support behaviour of children and young people
  • CHCDIV002 – Promote Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural safety
  • CHCDIV001 – Work with diverse people

Depending on electives undertaken within the Certificate III Education Support, further credit transfers may be available

To be assessed as competent in this qualification you are required to undertake a minimum 100 hours supervised work placement in a school (primary or secondary) or kindergarten environment

Evidence provided by a workplace supervisor will contribute to assessment of your ability to work at this level.
