This course is fully online with the option to attend campus for the practical component of HLTPHA007 Conduct small-scale compounding and labelling of aseptic pharmaceutical products; this three day practicum is designed for those who are unable to meet the practical requirements in the workplace.
Your learning will be supported by a dedicated full time teacher. This support will be provided via student web our learning management system and Microsoft Teams an interactive collaborative system whereby you can communicate with the teacher live and or via video conference.

This course is delivered online. Online learning can involve a range of programs and resources including StudentWeb, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Skype, specific industry platforms, pre-recorded sessions, assigned reading, tutorials, discussion boards, and online activities. Online delivery means that you can enrol in this course when you wish, and complete at your own pace.
After successful completion, you may wish to apply for a range of employment opportunities as a pharmacy technician or senior pharmacy technician.
You must be employed in a hospital pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.
To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Box Hill Institute will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.
A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.
