You must be employed in a hospital pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.

PRE-TRAINING REVIEW

To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs the Institute and CAE will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.

A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.

Successful completion enables you to progress into hospital/health related courses.

The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 4

After successful completion, you may wish to apply for a range of employment opportunities as a pharmacy technician or senior pharmacy technician.

You can choose to study the core unit (Conduct small-scale compounding of aseptic pharmaceutical products) in your workplace or at Box Hill Institute.

This course is suited to experienced hospital pharmacy technicians and you can complete this course in the workplace. A qualified senior pharmacy technician and teacher at Box Hill Institute will support you.

You will do all your assessments in the workplace under the supervision of a workplace supervisor or mentor.
