About the course

If you’re drawn to the excitement of the real estate industry, our property services course qualifies you to operate as a real estate agent's representative in Victoria. In our course you'll be armed with the knowledge and skills in areas related to the legal liability and legal responsibility of real estate agents within a structured learning environment.

Building on your existing knowledge, this course will teach you about:

real estate accounting requirements
management of client and agency relationships
listing and sale of properties
property reports and property leasing

You will also gain essential skills on how to conduct property appraisals and auctions, develop an understanding of risk management and how to manage property.

Intake Dates & Course Length

Full time: 5 months (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)

Part time: 12 months (Monday and Tuesday in the first semester and Thursday only in the second semester).

Monday classes will be held at Box Hill campus. Tuesday & Thursday classes will be remote via MS Teams.

This is a blended delivery course which will include a combination of online, remote and face to face delivery. Blended learning can involve a range of online programs and resources including StudentWeb, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Skype, specific industry platforms, pre-recorded sessions, assigned reading, tutorials, discussion boards, and online activities. Blended learning also involves face-to-face attendance at classes or practical placements.

Entry Requirements

You must have successfully completed Year 12 (VCE) or equivalent, or be a mature age applicant.

PRE-TRAINING REVIEW - to assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Box Hill Institute will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment. A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.

Pathways & Accreditation

Upon successful completion you can apply for the Diploma of Property (Agency Management). You may also be able to apply for similar courses at a more advanced level at other institutions or universities, and possibly receive credit for studies already completed.

The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 4
