About the course

This training and assessment upgrade course is designed to build on your current Training and Assessment qualifications.

This upgrade program will allow you to advance your qualification from the superseded Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) to the current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment upgrade (TAE40116).  The program is designed to take account of your existing TAE40110 qualification and, through studying either 3 or 4 units, depending on which units you already have, you will be able to upgrade to the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification.

Intake Dates & Course Length


You can enrol throughout the year

Part time: 5 weeks (over 3 sessions) if you already hold the following units:

  • TAELLN411 Address adult language and literacy skills
  • TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools

For those who do not already have those two units, students will need to attend 2 extra sessions over an additional 4 weeks.

The time taken to complete this course will vary depending on your input

Entry Requirements


To participate in the program, you must provide a certified copy of your TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment certificate and transcripts at enrolment. 

PRE-TRAINING REVIEW

To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Box Hill Institute will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.

A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.
