The BHI TAE40110 to TAE40116 Qualification Upgrade program is designed to take account of your existing TAE40110 qualification and, through studying either three (3) or four (4) units, you are able to upgrade to the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification.

For those who require the additional unit TAELLN411 Address adult language literacy and numeracy skills, an additional three (3) sessions are also delivered over five (5) weeks.

Box Hill

To participate in the program, you must provide a certified copy of your TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment certificate and transcriptions at enrolment. 

At your enrolment interview you will undertake the online Core Skills Diagnostic test as well as a Pre-Training Review.

You may wish to apply for entry into the TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training at Box Hill Institute.

The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 4

Units are clustered:

TAEASS401 Plan assessment activities and processes

TASASS403 Participate in assessment validation

TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools

These clustered units comprise three (3) days of full time study, delivered over five (5) weeks.  The break between sessions allows for task completion and preparation/completion of assessments.








This unit describes the skills and knowledge a vocational trainer or assessor requires to identify language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skill requirements of training and the work environment, and to use resources and strategies that meet the needs of the learner group.
