International students must have completed Australian Year 12 or international equivalent with a pass. Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered.
A current Working with Children and Police Checks are required prior to commencement of work placement.
Complete questionnaire, vaccination/ immunisation record* - will be given to you on enrolment day to be signed by your GP .
*Students who accept an offer of a place must provide evidence of having commenced an immunisation course against Hepatitis B and must be fully immunised against Rubella and Tetanus. An immunisation against Hepatitis A is also advisable.
PLEASE NOTE: Box Hill Institute only accepts enrolments from international students who are 18 years of age or above at the time of course commencement.
A minimum IELTS overall score of 6.0 (Academic) or approved equivalent.

Successful completion can provide a pathway to the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Box Hill Institute, Deakin) or the Bachelor of Primary Education (Deakin University).

You will complete 28 units
To be assessed as competent in this qualification you are required to undertake between 240-590 hours of supervised work placement in a registered education and care service, for example, long day care service, preschool, kindergarten or an out-of-hours school care program.
Evidence provided by a workplace supervisor will contribute to assessment of your ability to work at this level.

Specific licensing requirements, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and/or relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority.
