Diploma of Event Management
Melbourne is known as the sporting events capital of the world, home to the Boxing Day Test, F1 Grand Prix, Spring Racing Carnival, Melbourne Cup, AFL Grand Final, Ironman Triathlon, the Australian Open Tennis and many other events. We also host may music events, an increasing number of food events and many other fun events.
Our event management course is your perfect pathway to a university degree in event management, or for working in the broad events industry, and even to run events for your organisation.

You’ll learn about client services, marketing, communications, occupational health and safety (OHS) and event management. You will also have the opportunity to learn from, and speak to, current industry professionals working with our industry partners.

Part time: 12 months (evenings)
You must have completed Year 12 (VCE) or equivalent. Mature age applicants are welcome to apply.
To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs the Institute and CAE will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.
A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.
After successful completion, you may wish to apply for a range of degree courses including:
- sports management
- sports administration
- outdoor recreation
- event management
You may be eligible to receive credits up to 12 months for your completed studies.
This course is government accredited and has national recognition
The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 5.
This qualification will prepare you for work in a wide range of roles in the sports and events industry. Through your practical work experience, you will gain confidence and essential management skills to apply to work.
