Full time: 12 months
At the completion of this course you'll have the option to undertake units in Certificate III in Fitness so that you gain important knowledge in anatomy and physiology, that you may require in further studies or that you can use in the fitness industry. Study this fitness component in our on-campus classroom gym facility.
This is a blended delivery course which will include a combination of online, remote and face to face delivery. Blended learning can involve a range of online programs and resources including StudentWeb, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Skype, specific industry platforms, pre-recorded sessions, assigned reading, tutorials, discussion boards, and online activities. Blended learning also involves face-to-face attendance at classes or practical placements.
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the Diploma of Sport Development.
This qualification will prepare you to work in a wide range of roles in the sport and fitness industry. You may find work in sports management, sports administration, fitness, sports coaching, officiating or event management. Following further study, you may enter a career in sport/exercise science, health and nutrition or teaching physical education.
You must have completed Australian Year 12 (or international equivalent).

PRE-TRAINING REVIEW
To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Box Hill Institute will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.
A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.
Successful completion will enable you to apply for degree courses in a number of areas including sports science, sports management and human movement.
