At Box Hill Institute the Diploma of Sport (Coaching and Development) provides students an opportunity to complete a broad range of units and study areas. this includes; coaching, sports leadership, sports integrity, event and project management, sports governance and sports psychology. Each of the subject areas are applicable to the different roles where you may gain employment and also provide the fundamental learning and opportunity to pathway to further study. Many of our graduates acknowledge that the Diploma is a great transition to University and that it prepares them for what is expected at Bachelor level.

Full time: 1 year
This is a blended delivery course which will include a combination of online, remote and face to face delivery. Blended learning can involve a range of online programs and resources including StudentWeb, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Skype, specific industry platforms, pre-recorded sessions, assigned reading, tutorials, discussion boards, and online activities. Blended learning also involves face-to-face attendance at classes or practical placements.
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the Diploma of Sport (Coaching and Development) and Diploma of Sport and Recreation Management
This qualification will prepare you to work in a wide range of roles in the sport, recreation and fitness industry. You may find work in sports management, sports administration, sports coaching, officiating or event management. Following further study, you may enter a career in sport/exercise science, health and nutrition, or teaching physical education.
You must have completed Australian Year 12 (or international equivalent).

PRE-TRAINING REVIEW
To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Box Hill Institute will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.
A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.
Successful completion will enable you to apply for degree courses in a number of areas including sports science, sports management and human movement.
