Full time: 1 year (with prior skills and knowledge in IT at Certificate IV level)

Full time: 2 years (including stage 1 - Certificate IV in Information Technology)

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to design, build and manage websites as an independent web developer or as part of a team.

After successful completion of our website development course, you may wish to apply for employment opportunities including as a:

• web administrator
• internet developer

International students must have successfully completed Certificate IV in Information Technology or equivalent, or have Certificate IV in IT level equivalent skills and knowledge. 

If you do not meet the entry requirements for this course, you may apply for the Certificate IV in Information Technology with this course as a package offer.

PLEASE NOTE: Box Hill Institute only accept enrolments from international students who are 18 years of age or above at the time of course commencement.

A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic) or approved equivalent.

Our website development course has a strong core ICT base, sharing the same core competencies as several other IT qualifications of the same level. Depending on the stream chosen, you may wish to apply for our Bachelor of Computer Systems or alternatively you can apply for a variety of degree courses at La Trobe, Monash, Deakin or Australian Catholic University. 

International students: You may wish to apply or package this course with the Bachelor of Computer Systems at Box Hill Institute.

The qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 5

Retain Course Items are purchased once by the student prior to commencing. Those items then become the property of the student. For the Diploma of Website Development, you need to complete a minimum of 8 core units and 12 elective units.

If you choose to enrol in the dual qualifications, you will need to complete the:

• Diploma of Website Development: 8 core units and 12 elective units, and
• Diploma of Software Development: 10 core units and 6 elective units

There are common core and elective units across both qualifications. The total number of units to be studied in the dual qualification will be 24 units.
