Fault Finding – Restricted Electrical Workers Licence Class 1 (Composite Appliances)
The Restricted Electrical Worker’s Licence entitles the holder to carry out low voltage electrical installation work relating to Composite Appliances connected to a fixed electrical installation, associated with their primary trade, vocation or occupation and would otherwise require the services of a registered electrical contractor or a licensed electrician.
The Restricted Electrical Worker’s Licence entitles the holder to carry out electrical installation work involving disconnection and reconnection of equipment as indicated on the licence, as follows:
Note that in order to undertake fault finding, ESV will require you to complete unit of competency for fault finding as well as the unit required for disconnect/reconnect being the Restricted Electrical Worker’s Licence course.

Completion of unit UEENEEP017A. Covers disconnecting and reconnecting Composite Appliances connected to low voltage installation wiring. It encompasses working safely, identifying supply arrangements, following isolation procedures, selecting and using testing and measuring devices, terminating and connecting cables and conductors, safely testing and reporting.
The unit coverage excludes disconnecting or reconnecting circuits at a switchboard or to general electrical accessories (including switches, socket outlets, circuit protective devices etc); or installation of or alteration to any part of the fixed electrical wiring system
Must hold restricted Electrical Workers Licence Class 2.
