Dive into to the world of game audio and look at the varied rolls and tools used by those in the game industry. Delivered within our newly-constructed state-of-the-art music facilities at Nelson Campus, this course focuses on the collection, creation, management, and delivery of sounds for games, as well as gaining an understanding on how programmers integrate sounds within games. You will create preproduction documents, prepare scripts, record sound effects and dialogue, source music, and apply all sound elements within a game level, using the game audio program Wwise.

This course focuses on the collection, creation, management, and delivery of sounds for games, as well as gaining an understanding on how programmers integrate sounds within games.

Some understanding and skills in music or games is preferrable. 

On successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand how a game manages and triggers audio files
  • Use field recorders and create complex sound design for games
  • Prepare, manage and deliver audio files for game programmers
  • Source music for use in games

Use Wwise to incorporate sound effects, atmos and dialogue into a game level
