Learn the basic disciplinary skills and techniques required to complete successful, observational drawings of the human figure.

Areas of study include: Introduction to the skeleton and simple proportions, the use of contour lines to improve observation and dynamic line to study gesture. Introduction to tonal values and modelling.

Please bring to class:

– HB pencil

– 5 sticks finger medium (finger width) willow charcoal

– kneadable eraser

– 2 x bull dog clips

– approx. 20 sheets bulky newsprint (butchers paper / large rough paper)

Students will develop the skills required to successfully draw the structural anatomy of the figure.
Gain a comprehensive knowledge of how to use drawing materials whilst being encouraged to complete pictures that reflect your own personal aesthetic.
