About the course

Kick start your career in real estate by becoming an Agents’ Representative, enabling you to perform a variety of roles under the supervision of a licensed Estate Agent. Delivered by real estate professionals with specialist knowledge and experience in the Australian property market, this training program will provide you with everything you need to start working in the industry.

The course is delivered remote via MS Teams at Box Hill during the day and during the evening. Day courses run 9am to 4.30 pm and evening courses are 6pm to 9pm.

The three units you will complete as part of this course will allow you to work as an Agents’ Representative. After you are graded as competent, evidence of your competency in these units will be sent to you immediately.

As this is an accredited short course, you must obtain a USI.

Course Content


Led by a qualified trainer and assessor, the course covers the following:

  • An introduction to the real estate industry
  • Working ethically and effectively within a real estate agency
  • Administration of listings and documentation
  • The sales process, calculations and transactions
  • Legislative requirements relating to property sales
  • Leasing and management of property
  • The role and responsibility of agency personnel in property management
  • Property management transactions and documentation

Studying the course at Box Hill Campus in small classroom groups will provide you with unique insight into the Trainer’s own experiences in working as an Estate Agent.

The following three units of competency are studied:

  • CPPDSM4080A Work in the real estate industry
  • CPPDSM4008A Identify legal and ethical requirements of property sales to complete agency work
  • CPPDSM4007A Identify legal and ethical requirements of property management to complete agency work

Important note:

In order to commence employment as an Agents’ Representative you must meet the following requirements of the Business Licensing Authority (BLA). If you have any queries on the following requirements please contact the BLA on 1300 135 452 or visit the website. Once employed, an agents’ representative can expect to undergo further training on the job in sales and/or property management.

Completion:
Upon successful completion of this course you will meet the education eligibility requirements for entry into the industry as an Agents’ Representative. You may progress to the Certificate IV in Property Services Real Estate, and after successful completion you would be eligible to become a licensed Estate Agent.

Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a Short Course Statement of Attainment.

Materials Required for class


Fee includes tuition and all materials. Payment is due in full at time of registration.

Target Audience


This course is aimed at any person who is at least 18 years of age and is intending to seek employment as an Agents' Representative.
