About the course

This information communication technology course will provide you with the ICT skills you need to pursue an exciting career in one of the world's largest industries. You'll gain a strong foundation in:

  • software and web development
  • IT services
  • system administration
  • networking and cloud computing
  • data science and AI
  • cybersecurity and IoT

After completion, you may wish to pathway to a Bachelor of Computer Systems, where you will critically engage with a core body of knowledge to analyse, comprehend and synthesise new information, concepts and evidence; analyse, design and troubleshoot complex systems, with a particular focus on network, security or data centre issues; and investigate, assess and critically evaluate new technologies, applying technical, ethical and business criteria.

Full time: 6 months (or part time equivalent) 

Mode of delivery is online. Online engagement hours are typically 16 hours per week. An additional 32 hours per week of personal study time is typical.

This course is delivered online.  Online learning can involve a range of programs and resources including StudentWeb, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Skype, specific industry platforms, pre-recorded sessions, assigned reading, tutorials, discussion boards, and online activities. Online delivery means that you can enrol in this course when you wish, and complete at your own pace.

You must have achieved a score of at least 20 in VCE maths (any) and 20 in VCE English or be able to demonstrate an equivalent literacy and numeracy standard.

Government Subsidised Place

This training is provided to eligible individuals with funds made available by the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments

In 2020, Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) eligible domestic students will pay a tuition fee of $0 for a limited number of places. To apply for one of these places, please submit a course enquiry. Students must complete the course by December 2020 to be eligible for the discounted fee. Students who study beyond this date will be required to pay full fees.

To get a CSP you must be one of the following:

  • an Australian citizen, who will live and study in Australia for some of the course
  • a New Zealand citizen, who will live and study in Australia for the whole course
  • permanent visa holder, who will live and study in Australia for the whole course
