China Country Head National Australia Bank
Danny Armstrong’s career has taken him a long way, both geographically and educationally. Now based in Shanghai as the China country head for National Australia Bank, Melbourne-born Danny commenced his financial services career in May 1982 with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in suburban Melbourne. His educational path has taken in Box Hill Institute, Monash University and Macquarie University, four Degrees, a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma.
Danny’s journey has been one of continuing hard work and success. Danny was charged with leading the team to establish the Commonwealth Bank in Vietnam – from licence application, through premises sourcing, staff hiring and training and local contractual negotiations to integrate into the Vietnam financial services system. The Bank’s first Vietnam branch opened in August 2008. Danny moved to NAB to lead the team establishing the NAB’s first China branch in Shanghai in March 2011. The Bank received it’s Shanghai branch banking licence in June and will open for business in October 2011.
