The Australian Qualifications Framework (commonly known as the AQF) is a unified system of 12 national qualifications in schools, vocational education and training (TAFEs and private providers) and the higher education sector (mainly universities).

The qualifications range from Certificates I through to Doctoral Degrees. The Framework links all these qualifications and is a quality-assured national system of educational recognition which promotes lifelong learning and a seamless and diverse education and training system.

All short course fees are stated in Australian dollars. Short courses are run on a self-funded basis and are not government subsidised.

GST

All prices shown include GST unless it is clearly indicated that a course is GST exempt. If GST applies to any course, the Institute may charge an additional amount.

CONCESSIONS

Concession fees will apply only to the individual student enrolling in a short course. Concession fees do not apply to all short courses. If a concession fee is available, the amount is shown next to the standard course fee. Concession fees apply to holders of a Commonwealth Health Care Card, pensioner concession card or senior’s card. We do not accept the Senior’s business Discount Card.

Box Hill Institute does not store credit card details.

The credit card details you supply for payment will be recorded directly on Verisign Australia’s secure web-based payment processing system, and then passed through to the ANZ Bank, which will process your payment request.

The credit card details you supply for enrolment payment will be truncated by Verisign Australia, so that your credit card details cannot be compromised in any way. Verisign Australia’s data is hosted in Verisign Australia’s high-security, fully redundant, risk-free data centre.

A critical concern for electronic payment is the secure transmission of data. To protect your data during transmission Verisign Australia uses the latest 128-bit SSL encryption technology that securely passes transaction data to the Verisign Australia gateway.

However, an even bigger security threat to electronic payments is the storage of sensitive data. To prevent data compromise in the storage server, Verisign Australia stores sensitive transaction information on secure systems that cannot be accessed through the Internet.

Furthermore, Verisign Australia uses hardware and software firewall technology and additional encryption technology to eliminate all opportunity for intruders to break into a server and compromise information.

Box Hill Institute attempts to run all courses as advertised. However, a course must be cancelled if a minimum enrolment figure is not met.

Notification of cancellation and a rescheduled course date will be provided before the course is due to commence. Alternatively, if preferred, a full refund will be provided.

The following refund information applies to students enrolled in a self funded short course.

Applications for refunds and transfers will be accepted if a request is received at least four working days prior to the start of the course. No refunds will be issued for withdrawal requests received after this time.

  • There will be a $55 administration fee for all course withdrawals.
  • A full refund is given only if the class is cancelled.
  • No refunds or transfers will apply once a course has commenced.
  • Processing of refunds takes at least 15 working days.

All refunds will be made directly to the payee and will be mailed to the payee’s address as shown on the application form. For online/web-based fee payments made via credit card, refunds will only be made to the payee’s credit card as was used for the original fee payment.

Students wishing to transfer to a future start date of the same course will be accepted if a request is received at least four (4) working days prior to the date of course commencement, and providing a suitable future course offering is available.

INSTITUTE HOLIDAYS

Many courses have holiday breaks based on the State’s education system. Check with the relevant teaching centre for specific term breaks.

 

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

Classes are normally not held on public holidays. Please check when enrolling.

If you receive a government benefit from Centrelink, it is your responsibility to notify Centrelink immediately if you reduce your student workload in any way, either through the receipt of exemptions or transfers, withdrawal from units, exit from the course, or non-attendance.

The Institute is obliged to periodically provide enrolment and attendance information directly to Centrelink. You will be reported to Centrelink as a full time student at Box Hill Institute if you are enrolled in and studying/attending more than 202.5 accredited unit hours over a single semester, or more than 405 accredited unit hours over the full calendar year. Please be aware that these classifications may not be accepted by other government agencies.
