With access to world class facilities and industry leading staff, the production programs at Box Hill Institute encourage and support emerging sound and music professionals to develop the technical and creative skills required to establish a career in the music industry. All our production focused programs are centred in our state of the art, Sing Sing East studios. This composition course focuses on rigorous study across orchestration, musicianship, music for screen media and games, music production and song writing. Our composers work inside our world class production suites and post production studio, and collaborate with performers and producers to work on cross-discipline projects and create new works. Students also work on real film and game projects with students from Deakin and Swinburne Universities.
Our industry recognised music business programs are designed to deliver high level music business learnings in an applied setting. By combining industry expert lecturers, an on-campus record label, world class recording facilities, a live music venue, collaboration with other disciplines and access to industry, students in these program graduate ready to succeed in industry.
Box Hill Institute offers the only nationally recognised qualification specialising in hip hop. This program is aimed at young hip hop artists who want to produce, manage and develop their own careers. The course is taught by some of Australia’s leading hip hop artists, including Nfa Jones (ARIA winner, 1200 techniques, House of Beige), Davey Norris aka Dizz1 (Roots Manuva, Aloe Blacc) and Syrene Favero aka Creamy Spies (House of Beige, Remi, Sampa the Great).
Our postgraduate music programs enable musicians to develop and articulate their own artistic voice. The programs deliver a series of experiences designed to develop the broad-based, collaborative and cross-disciplinary skills you need for the wide variety of music careers available in today’s market. You will become an artistic leader, capable of solving complex artistic music issues and problems in industry-relevant contexts.
