Ableton Live Workshop

The Ableton Workshop is for any keen Producers wanting to learn more about this DAW!

These workshops are for those looking to study Music Production in the future.

They are also a great opportunity to check out the facilities we have at Box Hill Institute Music – and for getting a taste of what it’s like studying your passion at Australia's leader in Music Education.

To Register  

  • All Workshops will be held at Box Hill Institute Music  
  • These Workshops are FREE (we recommend you bring lunch)  
  • All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation that includes the details of the completed workshop

Experience level: Intermediate. Experience with Ableton and DAWs recommended.

Studio Recording Workshop

The Recording Workshop is for any keen Audio Engineers wanting to learn more about working in and knowing your way around a studio!

These workshops are for those looking to study Audio Engineering and Mixing in the future.  

They are also a great opportunity to check out the facilities we have at Box Hill Institute Music – and for getting a taste of what it’s like studying your passion at Australia's leader in Music Education.

Songwriting Workshop

The Songwriting Workshop is for any keen songwriters who want to learn more about the art of songwriting.

Students will get the opportunity to learn how to compose a song from scratch and then work in small groups to perform it. These workshops are for those looking to study songwriting or composing in the future.  

They are also a great opportunity to check out the facilities we have at Box Hill Institute Music – and for getting a taste of what it’s like studying your passion at Australia's leader in Music Education.

We'll cover a range of topics including:  

  • Form and content  
  • Harmony and chords  
  • Melody  
  • Lyrics  
  • Groove, tempo and time signatures  
  • Texture and instrumentation  
  • Chorus and non-chorus  
  • Song generation

Audition Workshop

The Audition Workshop is for those looking to do further study in Music Performance.

In these workshops, we will take you through a standard audition process and help you with all the tips and tricks you need to succeed.  

These workshops are also a great opportunity to check out the facilities we have at Box Hill Institute Music – and for getting a taste of what it’s like studying your passion at Australia's leader in Music Education.

We'll cover a range of topics including:  

  • Song selection 
  • Presentation  
  • Interview questions   
  • Stagecraft  
  • Pre-requisites   
  • Sight reading (singing)  
  • Theory skills
  • Aural skills  
  • What we offer at Box Hill within the Bachelor of Music Industry degree
