Showcasing exceptional industry skills and talent, the biennial WorldSkills Australia Regional competitions have now concluded. The skills-based competitions are aligned to National Training Packages, Apprenticeships Australia, and Jobs Australia schemes and this year, Box Hill Institute had the honour of hosting the Beauty Therapy competition for one of the 36 regions taking part across Australia.
With over 4,000 Australians participating in regional competitions, competitors include students, VETiS students, apprentices, and trainees. Winners have the opportunity to compete at a national level where they vie to secure a spot representing Australia as a Skillaroo in the international competition.
Box Hill Institute students did very well in the regional competition with Alex Price winning gold in the automotive division and beauty students winning gold (Angel Soleimani), silver (Nikeatea Ball), and bronze (Honami Suzuki).
The WorldSkills competition recognises the power of skills, teamwork, communication and leadership, providing participants the opportunity to be recognised for their abilities and commitment to striving for excellence.
Congratulations to our incredibly skilled, hardworking Box Hill Institute students on their great achievements and outstanding results at WorldSkills Australian regional division.
