Our Success Stories: How Box Hill Institute's Certificate III Tourism Course Launches Careers in the Industry

Michael Appleton Head of Customer Experience, Tourism and Events at CherryHill Orchards feels that the Certificate III Tourism course is important “ To elevate the knowledge, skills and customer service delivery that our team provides to guests.” Charli also enjoyed work placement at Domain Chandon, a magnificent work place, building her confidence and developing important relationships in the workplace.

 

The Certificate III Tourism graduates have gained employment domestically and internationally in airlines such as Virgin, Qatar and Emirates, hotels such as Hilton, Marriot and Hyatt, Travel Agencies such as Hello world and Flight Centre, tour operators such as Intrepid Travel, Viva Holidays and Qantas holidays, Tourism agencies, transport providers, destination parks, Wineries, hospitality and events venues, the opportunities are endless.

Australia's tourism and hospitality industry is growing significantly, we are seeing airlines and hotels at capacity and people travelling both domestically and internationally. Tourism Research Australia forecast total visitor expenditure to surpass pre-pandemic levels this year and total $227.7 billion by 2027. This includes domestic overnight and day trip expenditure which is projected to reach $137.9 billion and $41.1 billion respectively by 2027 and international is forecast to increase to $48.8 billion by 2027.  The industry needs passionate professionals and is actively recruiting.
