Orion International Group has signed a contract with Box Hill Institute for the development of a prime 2,600sqm site located at 16-18 Spring Street, Box Hill. The site will be home to a leading edge, purpose built nurse training facility and a mixed use, high quality development.
For over 15 years, Orion International Group has been developing a variety of residential land and commercial developments in local and overseas projects. It has appointed Architect Elenberg Fraser and Health Care Architect Silver Thomas Hanley to lead the design of the Spring Street site development. RCP (Vic) are the development and project managers for the development.
The Spring Street site has been rezoned to a Mixed Use site. The development will include:
- 4 basement levels for resident and Box Hill Institute car parking, bicycle parking, storage and services
- A four storey podium including an active frontage at ground floor level and nurse training facilities for Box Hill Institute
- A residential development of up to 29 storeys (in total height) above the podium
- A traffic management plan for the site
- A landscape plan
Construction is scheduled to commence in early 2019 with the development feted for completion by early 2021.
Box Hill is undergoing a surge in development with seven sites approved for planning applications of 20 storeys or more and the construction of the Whitehorse Towers and Sky One, which is set to become the tallest building in Box Hill at 123m.
