The first of its kind in the southern hemisphere, KidzMondo will revolutionise the way kids learn and play in an educational setting. Australia’s first KidzMondo edutainment centre will be based at Box Hill Institute’s Lilydale Lakeside campus.
Complete with buildings, paved streets, and vehicles, this centre is built to replicate a mini city to allow for 80 careers and 120 activities. Local and regional sponsors will be sought to brand city establishments, making the centre even more life-like.
The edutainment centre will be fully integrated with Box Hill Institute’s training programs, allowing educators and industry facilitators to guide students through activities and career driven role plays.
Box Hill Institute CEO, Norman Gray said, “It’s a very exciting time for the local community. We believe KidzMondo will deliver an interactive learning experience for Victorian students, which will be strongly aligned to the Victorian curriculum.”
KidzMondo is anticipated to deliver significant economic benefits to the local community including short-term construction jobs, future employment inside the centre and delivering practical student traineeships. The centre is expected to attract more domestic and international visitors to the increasingly popular Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges region.
The official Australian signing ceremony took place on 23 March 2018 at Box Hill Institute’s Lakeside campus and the event was attended by local stakeholders, Victorian Deputy Premier James Merlino and KidzMondo Chief Financial & Investments Officer, Samer Kahil.
KidzMondo will be the ultimate destination for kids aged 4 – 14 to explore and engage in life-like scenarios to promote learning how a society functions, developing an understanding of financial literacy and build team work skills, independence, self-esteem and real life skills.
