The Inaugural Lopez-Lochert Scholarship Program

2018-12-20

Two of Box Hill Institute’s Diploma of Event Management students have been awarded the inaugural Lopez-Lochert Scholarship program.

The scholarship allows Jade Rankin and Madelaine Frichot to travel to Chile with 18 other Victorian students in early 2019 and study a Doing Business in Emerging Markets – Latin America course at Duoc UC, a tertiary institute in Santiago.

The scholarship carries the name of Rafaela Lopez and Peter Lochert, two Victorians who have contributed greatly to the Latin American community in Victoria.

It is being offered through a partnership between the Victorian Government and the Victorian TAFE network, including Box Hill Institute.

In the last decade, Latin American student numbers have grown four-fold in Victoria, and the State government hopes to attract even more while also encouraging Victorian students to study in Latin America.

Box Hill Institute believes that Jade and Madelaine will be outstanding ambassadors and we look forward to learning more about their trip when the students return from Chile.
