VCE Year 12
Adriana Giannettoni completed her Year 12 Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) at the Centre for Adult Education (CAE), part of the Box Hill Institute. Adriana said, “I really liked the flexibility of the timetable and the range of subjects on offer.”
A former student of VCE at CAE and a friend of Adriana’s recommended CAE as a great place to study. Adriana said, “The best thing about studying with the Box Hill Institute is the teaching staff. Studying at CAE really helped me regain my confidence.
“CAE has a supportive learning environment, with teachers who work hard to help you succeed. The teaching methods used were great and if needed, teachers would try to tailor things for individual students. Personally, the supportive environment was key to my enjoyment of the course.”
Earlier this year, Adriana was awarded VCE Student of the Year 2017. She said, “It’s a big honour and I was honestly surprised to be nominated. It has given me a big confidence boost and encouragement to continue down the path I’ve set out for myself.”
Adriana advises future Year 12 students not to underestimate the amount of time required to study Year 12 VCE. She said, “There is a lot of content so be prepared for a marathon of a year. Do not be afraid to ask for help if you need it, as the teachers are always happy to help.
“Continue being your authentic self, and give back to the community where possible through volunteer work. Get involved in your course and get to know your teachers, and do your best,” she said.
Adriana also wants to acknowledge her teachers for their support and to say, “A special thank you to Selina and Peter who nominated me. Without them, I doubt I would have had the same kind of success.”
Now she has completed her VCE, Adriana is ready to take on her next challenge. “I would like to eventually practice law, once I’ve finished my law degree. Possibly in public interest, medical or health law,” she said.
