International Students

Tuition fee refunds for international students are calculated by the Box Hill Institute International Student Office and are subject to specific refund clauses.

Domestic Students

The following refund information applies to all domestic students, including Victorian, interstate and temporary residents.

You must officially withdraw via submission of the relevant Course Exit or Unit Withdrawal form.

 

Foundation & Certificate I – IV Courses

Self Funded Places

If you officially withdraw before classes have started or within four weeks of the course start date, you will be entitled to a full refund of all tuition and amenity fees paid, less a portion of the fees for materials that you may have already expended. The core skills support fee is non-refundable.

If you withdraw after four weeks after the course start date for any reason, tuition, amenity and core skills support fee refunds do not apply. Material fee refunds will be dependent upon the time elapsed and materials already purchased/supplied/utilised at the time of your withdrawal.

Government Subsidised Places

If you officially withdraw before classes have started or within four weeks after the official commencement of the course (not units), you will be eligible for a full tuition and amenity fee refund, less a portion of the fees for materials that you may have already expended. The core skills support fee is non-refundable.

No tuition, amenity or core skills support refund applies for withdrawals after four weeks after official course commencement. Materials fee refunds will be dependent upon the time elapsed and materials already purchased/supplied/utilised at the time of your withdrawal.

If you have deferred payment of your fees via a Payment Plan, and you officially withdraw within four weeks after the official commencement of the course (not units), your Payment Plan will be cancelled for the tuition and amenity fees for those unit/s. Core skills support fee and Payment Plan establishment fee however still applies. Materials fee refunds will be dependent upon the time elapsed and materials already purchased/supplied/utilised at the time of your withdrawal.

The Payment Plan will still be incurred by you for those units in which you withdraw after four weeks after the official commencement of the course (not units).

Course teaching materials fees and retained course items fees may be refunded at the discretion of the relevant teaching centre at any time during the enrolled calendar year, until 1 December, upon official withdrawal via submission of a Course Exit or Unit Withdrawal form.

The refund depends upon the time elapsed and materials already purchased, supplied or utilised at the time of withdrawal.

Diploma, Advanced Diploma & Vocational Graduate Certificates Courses

SELF FUNDED PLACES

If you officially withdraw on or prior to the unit census date you will receive a full refund of tuition and service & amenity fees for those unit/s. The core skills support fee is non-refundable. Materials fee refunds will be  dependent upon the time elapsed and materials already purchased/supplied/utilised at the time of your withdrawal. No refund applies for a unit once the census date has passed.

GOVERNMENT SUBSIDISED PLACES

If you officially withdraw on or prior to the unit census date you will receive a full refund of tuition and service & amenity fees for those unit/s. The core skills support fee is non-refundable. Materials fee refunds will be  dependent upon the time elapsed and materials already purchased/supplied/utilised at the time of your withdrawal.

No refund applies for a unit once the census date has passed.

If you have deferred payment of your fees through VET Student Loan, and you officially withdraw on or prior to the unit census date, your VET Student Loanapplication will be cancelled for those units.

A VET Student Loan debt will still be incurred by you for those units in which you withdraw after the unit census date has passed.
