What is an Advanced Diploma of Building Design?

An Advanced Diploma of Building Design is a course designed for those looking for a creative career as an architectural building designer or draftsperson. The course will equip you with the required skills for employment in the industry including design and technical drawing, project management and material selection.

How long does it take to become a building designer?

The Advanced Diploma of Building Design is completed in 2 years full time or 3 years part time (February start). If starting in July, full time will be completed in 2.5 years and part time will be completed in 3.5 years.

What is the Advanced Diploma of Building Information Modelling?

The Advanced Diploma of Building Information Modelling is a course that will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to manage the detailed activity of a building construction or engineering program using BIM compatible software to achieve the best possible project workflow. Upon completion, you will have high level skills to manage BIM workflow processes, manage project cost control processes and plan for effective coordination of complex projects. 

How long is the Advanced Diploma of Building Information Modelling?

The Advanced Diploma of Building Information Modelling is completed in 12 months part time. 

How do you become a building designer?

By studying the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural). The course is designed to prepare you for a career as a building designer, or draftsperson. You will learn about architectural design and the construction of residential and commercial buildings. Applying the principles of environmental sustainability to projects will be an important part of your studies.

What is the difference between an architect and a building designer?

The difference between a building designer and an architect comes down to the licence you have. The Building Design course is a great pathway to becoming an architect. The work that building designers do is the same as what an architect does, however, each hold different qualifications and have a different registration process.
