Dennis Ioannou – Graphic Design
Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design
Hard work pays off. I tried many different techniques and learned many different skills. The end result landed me with “Best Folio” at our graduate exhibition.
Dennis Ioannou’s successful journey at Box Hill Institute began in early 2014. Although he never predicted design as a career, nowadays he cannot see himself doing anything else.
Like many creative people, Dennis dabbled in different fields of study and work before one day he was paid for a design he had created. That is when he realised that graphic design was a vocation worth pursuing and he enrolled in Box Hill Institute’s Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design.
Dennis admits that the course was the most challenging study he has done, but it is also the most fulfilling. He said, “I thought it was very time-consuming and challenging but in hindsight, it was a great preparation for the industry.
“TAFE is an amazing experience. It has helped me find a job in the industry and I have gained confidence in my abilities.”
“I’m glad I went to TAFE before university. The skills I gained at Box Hill were extremely worth it. At University, I don’t have to worry about any of the technical skills,” he said.
And the best thing about Box Hill? “Definitely the teachers. They’re always there for you, even after hours. They’ll help you with any problems you encounter for sure.”
Now, with an Advanced Diploma, a best folio accolade and an abundance of skills and experience, Dennis is continuing his study with a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Communication Design) at Deakin University.
