Box Hill Institute delivers free services and programs to help students succeed with their study and life goals and enjoy their time at Box Hill Institute and CAE. Services are accessible across all campuses and include counselling, disability liaison and indigenous support.

Skills and Jobs Centres

Get ahead in your TAFE course

Learn Local Study Support  - Gaining the Edge is designed to give you support during your course and provide you with the skills and confidence to succeed.

This course is offered through our partner Institute, CAE and held at Box Hill and Lilydale campuses. Learn more about Learn Local Study Support.

Student Services

Counselling

Box Hill Institute has both personal and educational counselling available for enrolled students. The service is free of charge and available at all campuses.

Welfare Support

Box Hill Institute has a Welfare Officer who assists students if they are having difficulty paying fees, experiencing problems at home, or are having accommodation issues.


Student Wellbeing Officers

At Box Hill Institute, students will have access to Student Wellbeing Officers who work to provide support, activities and programs to help you succeed in your course.


Disability Liaison Service

At Box Hill Institute, we are committed to providing equal access to learning opportunities for students with a disability and offer a Disability Liaison Service for advice and assistance.


Indigenous Liaison Support

At Box Hill Institute, we have a Koori Liaison Officer who is employed to support any issues that Indigenous students may face throughout the course of their studies.


Library

With a network of libraries across each campus, the library is there to support the learning needs of students and staff of the Institute.


Prayer Rooms

There is a prayer room located at each Box Hill Institute campus with students welcome to use the rooms for prayer, meditation or quiet contemplation.


Parent Support

Box Hill Institute offers a parent support room at our Elgar Campus for breastfeeding mothers, with similar facilities available at our Nelson, CAE and Lilydale Campuses.


Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Support

The LLN Support program is designed to assist students who have gaps in their prior learning with foundation skills to complete their coursework.

Reconnect Program

Reconnect Program

Support to Help You Achieve Success

Unemployed? Aged between 17 – 64? We can help you Reconnect!

The Reconnect program intensively supports participants to enrol in vocational education and training or find employment. Case Managers will work with you to develop a Work & Learning Plan based on your needs and career goals. You will receive assistance to enrol in pre-accredited or accredited course and move on to further training or employment.
