The Certificate III in Information Technology (ICT30120) is focused on basic IT skills including hardware, software, IT support and cyber security.
This course aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and competency that will enhance their training and employment prospect in the information and communications technology and related industries.

Applications for VDSS courses are to be submitted directly to your secondary school. The school will then enrol you in the course.
This course can only be completed as part of your secondary school studies in years 10, 11 and 12.

On successful completion students may choose to continue into the Certificate IV in Cyber Security (22603VIC), Certificate IV in Information Technology (ICT40120).
After completion, you may apply for roles such as IT support, networking, support technician, PC security technician, ICT system analyst, data centre trainee.
Students undertaking VCE VET Information, Digital Media and Technology (Partial completion) are eligible for:
Students wishing to receive an ATAR contribution for the scored units 3 and 4 sequence of VCE VET Information Technology must undertake scored assessment for the purpose of achieving a study score. This study score can contribute directly to the ATAR, either as one of the student's best four studies (the primary four) or as a fifth or sixth study.
Where a student elects not to receive a study score for the scored units 3 and 4 sequence of VCE VET Information, Digital Technology, no contribution to the ATAR will be available.
The VCAA strongly recommends that students undertake a minimum of 80 hours SWL for the VCE VET Information Technology program. SWL should be spread across the duration of the training program.
There is no specific uniform requirement. It is expected you wear comfortable and suitable clothing for classes.
