Located 14 kilometres east of Melbourne City, the Elgar campus can be found on Elgar Rd in Box Hill.

Located 14 kilometres east of Melbourne City, the Nelson campus is the second location in Box Hill situated on Whitehorse Road.

Located 15 kilometres east of Melbourne City, the Whitehorse campus can be found on Whitehorse Road in Box Hill.

Our CBD campus is co-located with the Centre for Adult Education in the heart of Melbourne&rsquo;s Central Business District.

Our Lakeside Lilydale campus serves the local community as an active learning centre with a range of vocational and higher education courses. The campus is also home to the Yarra Ranges Tech School.

On behalf of the Board and Executive Leadership Team at Box Hill Institute, we acknowledge the history of systemic disadvantage of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart which reflects the aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for constitutional recognition and a constitutionally enshrined Voice to Parliament.
Later in 2023, the Federal Government will be taking a referendum to the people where we as Australians will be asked whether we approve a change to the Australian Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.
Victoria is the first jurisdiction in Australia to action all elements of the Uluru Statement from the Heart, and the Victorian Government supports the Federal Government&rsquo;s position on establishing an Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
At Box Hill Institute we are proud of our long-standing partnerships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, and we are committed to implementing Government plans and policies designed to enhance outcomes for Aboriginal students, employee, and communities.
We prioritise the Wurreker Plan initiatives which ensures the delivery of safe, accountable indigenous support for students in order to achieve quality education, training, and employment outcomes. The chief consultant for our inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan is a local elder/ traditional owner. This ensures initiatives and decisions are culturally informed and will meet the needs of local and surrounding communities.
We value the place of leaders in our communities and the influence they have. We work with local elders/ traditional owners to leverage from their wealth of experience and ensure the support we offer is authentic and culturally safe. Our indigenous representatives are key decision makers, sitting at the leadership table to inform meaningful outcomes in progressing the quality of indigenous support at Box Hill Institute.
We believe in the power of comprehensive and progressive education to foster understanding, respect and reconciliation. Through the Koorie Heritage Trust and our Koorie Liaison Officers, cultural awareness, competency, and safety training is offered annually, to all employees. Our indigenous support function, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Unit, guides us in being safe and accessible for indigenous students. We work to integrate these principles across all support services, solidifying our indigenous agenda as the work of the entirety of the Box Hill Institute community.
We will continue to work towards advancing and progressing our agenda. We will continue to listen and cement our commitment to genuine intention, accountability and outcomes.
We encourage all members of the Box Hill Institute community to actively participate in the upcoming referendum. This includes registering to vote, staying informed about issues at hand, and engaging in respectful and meaningful dialogue with others. We believe that by participating in this democratic process, we can demonstrate our commitment to equality and reconciliation.
Irrespective of the referendum outcome, and consistent with our organisational objectives, Box Hill Institute remains committed to the recognition and empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
