<p>Located 14 kilometres east of Melbourne City, the Nelson campus is the second location in Box Hill situated on Whitehorse Road.</p>

  Located 15 kilometres east of Melbourne City, the Whitehorse campus can be found on Whitehorse Road in Box Hill.
</p>

<p><span>Our CBD campus is co-located with the Centre for Adult Education in the heart of Melbourne&rsquo;s Central Business District. </span></p>

<p>Our Lakeside Lilydale campus serves the local community as an active learning centre with a range of vocational and higher education courses. The campus is also home to the <strong>Yarra Ranges Tech School</strong>.</p>

<h3>Get ahead in your TAFE course</h3>
<p>Learn Local Study Support &nbsp;- Gaining the Edge is designed to give you support during your course and provide you with the skills and confidence to succeed.</p>

<p>Box Hill Institute has both personal and educational counselling available for enrolled students. The service is free of charge and available at all campuses.<br /><br /></p>
<h3>Welfare Support</h3>
<p>Box Hill Institute has a Welfare Officer who assists students if they are having difficulty paying fees, experiencing problems at home, or are having accommodation issues.</p>
<h3><br />Student Wellbeing Officers</h3>
<p>At Box Hill Institute, students will have access to Student Wellbeing Officers who work to provide support, activities and programs to help you succeed in your course.</p>
<h3><br />Disability Liaison Service</h3>
<p>At Box Hill Institute, we are committed to providing equal access to learning opportunities for students with a disability and offer a Disability Liaison Service for advice and assistance.</p>
<h3><br />Indigenous Liaison Support</h3>
<p>At Box Hill Institute, we have a Koori Liaison Officer who is employed to support any issues that Indigenous students may face throughout the course of their studies.</p>
<h3><br />Library</h3>
<p>With a network of libraries across each campus, the library is there to support the learning needs of students and staff of the Institute.</p>
<h3><br />Prayer Rooms</h3>
<p>There is a prayer room located at each Box Hill Institute campus with students welcome to use the rooms for prayer, meditation or quiet contemplation.</p>
<h3><br />Parent Support</h3>
<p>Box Hill Institute offers a parent support room at our Elgar Campus for breastfeeding mothers, with similar facilities available at our Nelson, CAE and Lilydale Campuses.</p>
<h3><br />Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Support</h3>
<p>The LLN Support program is designed to assist students who have gaps in their prior learning with foundation skills to complete their coursework.<br /><br /></p>

<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">Both personal and educational counselling are available for students enrolled at Box Hill Institute. Counselling is free of charge and available at all campuses and online. <br />Our counsellors are registered psychologists and social workers who have specific training and experience in personal and educational counselling.</p>
<p>Counselling is confidential except in situations where there is a significant risk of harm to you or others.&nbsp;</p>
<p>eCounselling is available via the Student Web. The Counsellors also provide Mental Health Check Ups.</p>

<h2>Accessibility Liaison Service</h2>
<p class="x_MsoNormal">We are committed to providing equal access to learning opportunities for students with a disability and/or a health condition and offer an Accessibility Liaison Service (ALS) for advice and assistance.<br /><br />If you have a diagnosed disability and/or health condition and are currently studying or planning to study with Box Hill Institute, you may benefit from accessing support through registering with the ALS.</p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal">Examples of support include:</p>
<ul type="disc">
  <li class="x_MsoNormal">liaison with teachers,</li>
  <li class="x_MsoNormal">alternative formatting of class materials,</li>
  <li class="x_MsoNormal">assessment accommodations,</li>
  <li class="x_MsoNormal">access to software and technology that enhances learning,</li>
  <li class="x_MsoNormal">learning support in or out of class,</li>
  <li class="x_MsoNormal">referral to other support services, e.g. counselling and wellbeing,</li>
  <li class="x_MsoNormal">Australian Sign Language (Auslan) interpreters.</li>
</ul>
<p class="x_MsoNormal">A member of the ALS team will create an individualised Student Access Plan and will work with teachers and other support services to help students to succeed in their studies.</p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal">The Disability Transition Support Officer (DTSO) can provide one-to-one specialised and intensive support for students with diagnosed disabilities and/or health conditions transitioning from secondary school (including specialist schools and alternate education settings) to Box Hill Institute.</p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal">Through a holistic approach, the DTSO supports a broad cohort of students during their first 90 days of enrolment and helps set each student up for success!</p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal">If you have just left or are about to leave secondary school and are considering Box Hill Institute for your future studies, our DTSO can help make your transition to TAFE an easy one.</p>

<h2>Indigenous Liaison Support</h2>
<p>At Box Hill Institute we have a Koori Liaison Officer who is employed to support any issues that Indigenous students may face throughout the course of their studies. <br /><br />Our Koori Liaison Officer can assist you with course information, pathways into employment or further education, liaison with staff, Abstudy/Centrelink questions and even tutoring.</p>

<p>Unemployed? Aged between 17 &ndash; 64? We can help you Reconnect!<br /><br />The Reconnect program intensively supports participants to enrol in vocational education and training or find employment. Case Managers will work with you to develop a Work &amp; Learning Plan based on your needs and career goals. You will receive assistance to enrol in pre-accredited or accredited course and move on to further training or employment.</p>

Students are welcome to use the room for prayer, meditation or quiet contemplation.</p><ul><li>Elgar Campus, Building 4, Level 2, Room E4.261. The room is open.</li><li>Nelson Campus N1.G18. Entrance is via swipe access and a pass can be obtained by contacting Student Life.</li><li>CAE Building at 253 Flinders Lane, Level 2, Room B510. This room is open and can be locked to indicate that it is in use.</li><li>Lilydale campus LB.129. Entrance is via swipe access and a pass can be obtained from reception.</li></ul><h2>Parent Support</h2><h3>Breastfeeding Mothers</h3><p>If you are a breastfeeding mother or need to express milk during your time on campus, there is a room allocated at Elgar Campus for this purpose.</p><p>Similar facilities are available at our Nelson, CAE and Lilydale campuses. Please contact <a href="tel:1300%20269 445">Student Life on 1300 269 445</a> for further information.</p><h2><br />Language, Literacy and Numeracy Support</h2><p>Language, Literacy and Numeracy Support (LLN Support) program is designed to assist students who have gaps in their prior learning with foundation skills to complete their coursework.</p><p>The program focuses on vocational reading, writing, numeracy (maths) and communication(speaking, presenting and listening) skills. The LLN Support program is flexible, and provides support in classrooms alongside vocational teachers as well as small group tutorials.</p><p>Students are contacted by a teacher from the LN Support department, based on their Core Skills Diagnostic Profile and maintain this contact throughout the year.</p>
