Are you interested in working as a plumber?

Our plumbing apprenticeship course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to become competent in a range of industry-specific skills while you undertake your plumbing apprenticeship.

Our trainers will help you to become a registered plumber to allow you to work in the housing and industrial sectors of the plumbing trade.

You’ll learn from current industry professionals and learn the skills and knowledge aligned to the below streams:

  • Drainage, Gas, Mechanical, Roofing, Sanitary and Water

There are three requirements that the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) require in order for you to become a registered plumber in Victoria:

  • successful completion of a Certificate III in Plumbing
  • successful completion of a recognised plumbing apprenticeship
  • successful completion of each stream in the VBA plumbing registration exam, which was formally known as the Journeyman’s exam

The VBA Plumbing Registration Exam (formally known as the Journeyman's exam) is held 4 times a year during the term breaks at the Box Hill Institute, Elgar road Campus.
