This online course introduces the principles of the biosecurity continuum, and the social and economic contextual framework as it applies to challenges involving biological threats to Australian plants and examines the major pests and diseases that threaten plant life in Australia.

This course will build your skills to recognise signs of notifiable exotic and emerging plant pests and diseases and investigate the impact that these have on the Australian environment and economy. You will also develop skills to communicate technical and scientific information to a lay audience through preparation of an information pack on a plant pest or disease for communication to a stakeholder group.
