Koorie Liaison Officer Nominated for National Dreamtime Awards

2019-10-31

If there's one thing we know about Claire Sadler it's that she loves to study. Claire is Box Hill Institute's Koorie Liaison Officer and she's been nominated for Student of the Year at the upcoming National Dreamtime Awards 2019.

Claire started her tertiary education at The University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Primary Education majoring in Koorie Kids, followed by a First Class Honours in Mathematics. She was nominated for Student of the Year while studying for her Master of Indigenous Education from Macquarie University, which she finished recently.

The Student of the Year award is for a school or tertiary student that has demonstrated outstanding effort and academic achievement in their chosen field.

The National Dreamtime Awards are an opportunity for First Nation people from across our country to come together and recognise our excellence in the categories of sport, arts, education, health and community. They are attended by the country's most high profile political and community figures, sporting stars, entertainers and personalities and recognise excellence across 17 categories.

The Awards will be presented at a Gala event on Saturday 16 November at The Star Event Centre in Sydney and are usually broadcast live on SBS or NITV.

Congratulations Claire on your nomination and best of luck on the night!
