New Salvation Army Building and New Opportunities for Students

2019-06-17

Box Hill Institute CEO Vivienne King joined Epworth Eastern hospital representatives and Whitehorse Mayor Bill Bennett at the building site of The Salvation Army’s new place of worship for a sod turning ceremony.

Box Hill Institute will deliver training for a new generation of enrolled nurses, patient care assistants, allied health assistants, theatre technicians, food handling, environmental management, maintenance, and ward management courses.

A commercial arrangement allowing students to operate the hospital’s café and florist will allow them to gain hands-on retail and commercial experience in future developments.

The project is expected to bring in up to 1,568 residents, workers and students to the precinct, which will generate an extra $9 million a year to the local economy.
