On completion of this course, you'll be taking responsibility for your own performance and accountable for achieving your own goals and tasks. You'll also likely to provide leadership, guidance, and support to others. This means you'll be involved in leading and mentoring team members and helping them to succeed and perform effectively.
You'll be expected to apply solutions to both predictable and unpredictable problems. You'll hone your problem solving skills and the ability to adapt your approach to different situations.
This course will improve your skills to analyse and evaluate information from various sources. You'll be able to gather information, make sense of it, and use it to inform your decisions.

This qualification embodies the role of individuals who operate as emerging leaders and managers within diverse enterprise and industry settings. Apart from taking ownership of their own performance, individuals at this level are poised to offer leadership, guidance, and support to their peers. They may also shoulder responsibilities related to organising and overseeing team outputs. Their skill set includes the application of solutions to both expected and unexpected challenges, as well as the analysis and evaluation of information derived from various sources.
Upon completion of this course, individuals can pursue rewarding career paths in roles such as Coordinator (Business Operations), Warehouse Team Leader, Distribution Centre Supervisor, Supervisor, Line Manager, Leading Hand, Production Supervisor, Sales Team Manager, Team Leader, Frontline Sales Manager, Freight Administrative Supervisor, Small Business Manager, Small Business Operator, Supervisor, or Team Leader.
There are no formal prerequisites for entry into this qualification.
However, you will need to meet some selection criteria including:
PRE-TRAINING REVIEW - to assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Box Hill Institute will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment. A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.

To apply for this course, you must also be registered with an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network Provider and have a training contract with an employer.

On completion of this course you may be able to articulate into various diplomas and advanced diplomas of management, including, but not limited to SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management or BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management.
